New UK Space Agency funding for ArchAI

January 7, 2021

ArchAI is one of 5 projects to receive new funding for innovative space tech to help solve problems on Earth. The funding is provided by the UK Space Agency and delivered through the SPRINT Programme. Our project will be a collaboration with the University of Southampton, specifically Prof. Fraser Sturt from Archaeology and Dr. Jonathon Hare from ECS department. Together with a few of their PhD students we will further the research into rapid creation of training data and further the development of our AI.

About this specific funding Science Minister Amanda Solloway said:

“Today’s funding will provide lift off to some of the country’s most ambitious space collaborations, accelerating potentially game-changing technologies that will help the UK respond to global challenges such as cutting carbon emissions.”
